The IB1 and 2 Art students had their first field trip on Wednesday 11th November, visiting Aberdeen Art Gallery to see and interact with works of art from the Permanent Collection as well as exploring works submitted for the BP Portrait Award Exhibition. After lockdown and the unfortunate circumstances of not being able to travel to galleries, the students’ enthusiasm for seeing artworks up close was overwhelming. They spent valuable time looking, sketching, drawing, and taking notes on particular art pieces and the sketches are now the main focus back in the art room at ISA. These enquiries will lead to entries for their Process Portfolios and will help inform the next art studio piece they will make for the IB Visual Arts Exam. We look forward to the opportunity to visit art galleries in the near future.
