Spero
This week we launched a new project for Middle and High School students. ISA has teamed up with Ten Feet Tall productions to offer students the opportunity to be a part of a bespoke sci-fi audio drama. The crew of the spaceship Spero has been woken prematurely by their AI computer from a state of hypostasis on their way home from a mission. What could be the problem...?
Participants will learn about voice acting and have their lines supported with high end sound effects. The storyline will evolve based on student interests and involvement, with the edited product being released on the Community Hub as a series of short podcasts.
In the absence of a full Spring production, I hope that many of our students will take advantage of this opportunity to try something a little different and perhaps achieve some level of star-dom. It isn't too late if students want to get involved but missed the first session. In addition to this, with school remaining closed to older students for a little longer, there are a few other extracurricular activities to highlight: Ms Cusworth continues to offer a cooking club on Mondays; Spero runs on Tuesdays; Mr DeGraw is offering a chess club on Wednesdays in addition to the NHS tutor support that day; and after the break I will offer an upcycling club on Thursdays. Our MS Student Council is also putting on some activities on Friday lunchtimes that students can use to stay in touch.
Please note the slight change in schedule for the upcoming week. To allow for four balanced days of teaching ahead of the in-service day on Friday 19th, Wednesday 17th will follow a H-G-F-E schedule. Enjoy the break when it gets here.
