• A Final Word on RED NOSE DAY
At ISA, we had a very successful walkathon on Friday, March 18.
The final sum raised from the walkathon was over £2000. Congratulations to all of the participants and special recognition to our second and fifth grade teachers, Marcus Pereira, Jane Newbury, Lucy Thompson and Graham Brace and their students, who took the lead in organising the Comic Relief event for the elementary school.
• Three – Fourths
Three-fourths of the school year is officially complete. Our students continue to progress so well in both their skills and their ability to tackle new challenges. Hopefully, the Parent-Teacher Conferences have been productive and the children have a good sense of the goals they each need to strive for in the last quarter. We have many exciting events planned for the last quarter. A highlight is the Elementary Spring Open House on May 19. This is a student-led evening event, from 6:30 to 8:00pm. The theme for Open House is Art & Science. Look for more details in the grade level newsletters after the holiday.
• We’re Back
On Wednesday, March 23 the fourth and fifth grade students treated the elementary school to a wonderful concert in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. It was quite an emotional occasion to have a live concert to enjoy after a two-year hiatus. Congratulations to Lisa Nicol and Kent Walter for preparing the students for such a magical performance. The band and choir students were definitely ready for the performance and played/sang at their best; the pride and joy in their faces was apparent to all of the audience.
The We’re Back message is more meaningful than ever as from April 18 parents can officially return in-person for all theatre performances and the Elementary Monday morning assemblies. I hope to see many parents join us at the start of each week.
Finally, it’s been a long time since the start back of school in January. Many thanks to the elementary teachers; each one has worked with tremendous dedication to support student learning over the last three months. Congratulations, also to the students for their efforts during this long period of school study and to the ISA parents, who are famous for their levels of support for all of us. I hope everyone has the very best of holidays filled with family fun.
