Whole School Wellbeing
Thank you for taking our Autumn family wellbeing survey this month. Your important feedback helps us make better decisions for the students.
Many of you commented that you were pleased that after school activities were back. Don't forget to check the ISA Afterschool Schedule for ideas to help your child stay involved both physically and socially after school.
What is whole school wellbeing? We all have a different answer to that question! At ISA we often use the Shanarri wheel when discussing students and wellbeing. These indicators (Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible, and Included), help to guide how we assist students with positive growth academically, socially, and with mental health. The indicators are based on the Scottish safeguarding framework of “Getting it Right for Every Child” (Girfec).
Wellbeing doesn't only happen in our health, counselling or advisory interventions; it is an integral part of how we approach safeguarding, access to learning, and student activities. We hope that this year your child benefits from our whole school wellbeing approach at ISA.
Warm regards,
Valerie DeGraw
