YESvember!
With the nights drawing in and the colder weather here it can be easy for spirits to drop. In attempt to counter this we brought in YESvember several years ago. Students groups, teachers and anyone else that wants to get involved have run small events to boost morale and put smiles on faces. In the past these have included movie screenings at lunchtimes, music in the mornings, spirit wear days, RAKtivism (random acts of kindness) and notes of thanks to the support staff. If any parents want to get involved you would be very welcome, just drop me a note and I can support any mood-lifting ideas you may have.
This month of positivity kicks off with several sports tournaments involving other international schools. The boys' football teams are also in Scottish Schools' Shield action. Halloween celebrations have seen various outfits on display today and middle school students will be excited about the Halloween Dance tonight which has been well organised by middle school student council. This weekend we also have Trunk or Treat courtesy of the High School National Honour Society. Lots going on to banish those winter-related blues.
