Chromebook Care

Unfortunately this semester we have seen an increasing amount of damage to Chromebooks, often due to accidents which could have been avoided.  We have noted students walking around with Chromebooks open, and even Chromebooks discarded on benches at breaktimes - and often not in their cases.

Grade 5 & 6 students have fixed rubber cases which should not be removed at any point.  Congratulations to Grade 5 who have had NO damage to Chromebooks this academic year!

Grades 7 - 12 should all have purchased a suitable case for storing their Chromebook in when moving between classes and between home and school.  Please ensure this is used at all times.  If you do not have a case, please get one similar to this one.

Due to the significant number of 'accidents' recently we have decided that we will begin charging a fee of £30 for dealing with any damage, even if purely accidental. This fee will reduce to £15 if a case was being used. Chromebooks will not be repaired and returned to the student until the fee has been paid.  We would remind you that in cases where there has been negligence 50% of the cost of the repair is incurred, and where there is reckless behaviour the full cost will be charged, in line with our damage & loss liability policy.

We would really appreciate it if families would chat together about respect for our belongings, and taking good care of Chromebooks.
