Thank you Dr. Carmichael!
Dr. Carmichael has been at ISA for eleven years and he has made an important impact on the learning and ethos at ISA. In addition to leading the middle and high school as our principal, he has also taught chemistry and design tech, along with his work as our former IB coordinator. He has coached middle and high school football at ISA, and he is known for organising our friendly faculty vs high school football games.
Dr. Carmichael’s curriculum initiatives have embraced service learning and eco- friendly field trips and his passion for the environment has helped to shape important activities at ISA for many years to come. His work with the self directed learning projects in high school have allowed for many of our students to follow a particular interest or passion, supporting ISA’s learning habits of responsibility, engagement, and collaboration.
We have all benefited from Dr. Carmichael’s Yesvember celebration - a month of wellness activities and positivity in between October and December each year at ISA. Dr. Carmichael truly embodies our school values of respect, excellence, diversity, community, integrity, and service. He will be remembered for his outstanding care with our students. We wish him the best with his new adventures!
Warm regards,
Valerie DeGraw
