National Honour Society - A celebration of the light
I am mindful that many of my posts have been about how we learn as a community to embrace our values, each other and learning whilst managing the inevitable presence of conflict. Today I would just like to celebrate the light.
The National Honour Society was founded to "not only ignite the flames of scholarship but also fan the sparks of service, leadership, and character". It was an honour for me to see the new members ushered in under the wise tutelage of existing members and Mr. Klopp.
It might seem like this is an 'award' but actually it is an acknowledgement of the responsibility of these young people to support the excellence of our community, and you will notice the members offering tuition to younger students and helping organise community events. With Diwali coming up shortly, it is an excellent time as we head towards winter to celebrate and take comfort in the light.
