From the Middle School High School Principal

 Drawing to a close a wonderful semester and the first quarter of the 21st Century

A sincere thanks to all parents as we draw the semester to a close for choosing us to help your children to thrive.  

Schools' promises (their mission, vision) and their reality can be very fuzzy and mixed affairs.  We have striven recently to renew the clarity of our guiding statements and 'do exactly what it says on the tin'.  

Obviously for this to be a reality, it also needs a community that want the same thing: a kind inclusive community that helps global citizens to thrive; with learning that is concept based and builds agility and creativity rather than a curriculum that looks backwards to memorising soon-to-be-redundant facts and skills.  A school that actively wants inclusion and diversity of all kinds as a celebration of what it is to be human in this complex world - and a school that creates an environment where all are included and all successful.

So thank you for joining us on that journey and making it a reality, by trusting us with your children.

We hope your children end the semester meaningfully tired after a wonderful range of experiences in the classroom, on trips, in activities and in their friendships; optimistic about the future they embrace and are ready for; and feeling full of new learning.  Have a great break, and enjoy the turning of the year, when we leave behind that which is better left behind, and carry those precious things we value into a new era, and the second quarter of the 21st century (if you are using that calendar, because other calendars are available!).
