From the Middle School High School Principal

 Holistic

This week we have extraordinary events happening - as happen every week here.  The Print at the Print Room exhibition of students' work is taking place on Union Street in the Print room (see community hub) and meanwhile we have basketball teams from far flung and close by here for the international middle school basketball competition hosted at the school.  Meanwhile Grade 12s have their International Baccalaureate Diploma mock exams - widely regarded as the most prestigious and high quality senior stage exams in the world.

This rich diversity is not an accident.  In fact it is a designed-in feature of an holistic  'IB' and ISA education.  The international baccalaureate provides the framework for our broad high quality education, and it involves not just all the academic subjects to keep pathways and minds open, but also a commitment to creativity, action and service.  This week, though typical, is also emblematic of that richness.

Nick Little spoke at the Print at the Print Room exhibition of how the diversity of the work, mirrored the rich diversity of our students' pursuits, passions and identities.  I leave you with a picture of that diversity and a celebration of the holistic nature of our education.  Have a great weekend, and do visit the Print Room over the weekend if you can.
