From the Head of School

Enjoying the Long Evening

ISA breaks up for the summer in mid-June: incredibly, we are coming to the last month of school.  For some of you, it will be your last month at ISA

I left my last school after 16 years: my children had graduated from it, my son had had his first day of school there.  I was leaving behind some pretty significant memories, but I was also happy to be returning to my home country and excited about what lay in store for me at ISA.  It was a time of very mixed emotions, while also trying to get shipping organised, paperwork in order and a thousand details ticked off a very long list.

Many of you are going through variations of that experience right now, the anxiety and anticipation.  Others, staying here, are sharing the same emotions as friends are leaving or they look forward to a new class or a different section of the school.

In these last weeks, there will be lots of opportunities to celebrate the school year, from class trips and award ceremonies to concerts and exhibitions.

They are both a celebration and an ending, marking off the 2024-25 school year.  We shouldn’t consider them ‘time out from study’ but an important part of the emotional journey through school.

There is a lot on over the next month..  Make sure you check our daily notices and don’t forget to scroll down for the calendar. Make sure you come in when you can - enjoy the ISA buzz!

The end of the school year contains mixed emotions both for those leaving us and those coming back.  For those of you leaving us many of those emotions are heightened especially in present circumstances.  However, for all of us, take time to enjoy their positive side.
