So, here we are: the final Thistle Talk of the 2024–2025 school year.
Last night, I put the finishing touches on the end-of-year assembly slideshow, sifting through thousands of photographs from the past several years. As I looked through those images (snapshots of joyful faces, shared milestones and even everyday moments), I was reminded of just how happy our ISA students are, and how many incredible opportunities they experience throughout the year.
It has been both a pleasure and a privilege to serve as the Preschool and Elementary School Principal at ISA this year. This is an ambitious and inspiring school, full of thriving children, dedicated educators and supportive families. From reading each progress report and observing learning in action, I know it’s been a successful year academically. But, more than that, it’s been a year of meaningful personal growth for all of our students: kindness has blossomed, confidence has soared, curiosity has deepened, and the ability to engage with focus and purpose has taken root. Your children have truly earned the joyful summer days ahead!
Our teachers have worked tirelessly to nurture this growth. They’ve poured energy, care and creativity into every lesson and unit, and I know they’re looking forward to a well-deserved summer break. I want to sincerely thank each one of them for their remarkable efforts, their inspiration and their ambition. To all our families: thank you, too, for your trust, partnership and ongoing support.
Today, 13 June, marks the beginning of summer adventures, but also the time when we say farewell to students, families and colleagues who are moving on. Whether you're heading to a new school, a new city, or even a new country, please know that while you take a piece of ISA with you, you also leave your mark behind. To those who are leaving ISA, we wish you every success and hope that your time here will always hold a special place in your hearts. And who knows? Perhaps one day, your ISA journey will continue!
Wishing you all a restful, joyful and memory-filled summer. We will see you in August!
Please note: Quarter 4 Progress Reports will be available to families via PowerSchool beginning this afternoon (Friday, 13 June). This letter accompanies the Progress Reports.
